• If you don't need Arctic Route Senja bus transfer, then we can offer you NOK 1500 discount on the package price.
  • Own Car: It's possible to arrive with your own/rental car
  • Public transport: It's possible to take a boat from Tromsø to Lysnes and then public bus to Mefjord Brygge
• We can arrange minibus pickup at Tromsø / Bardufoss / Finnsnes. First we apply the discount of NOK 1500, then we calculate transfer price based on our price list.
• Mixed pickup/drop-off with Arctic Bus: We give discount of NOK 750 per way for the bus and NOK 400 per way for guests needing only transfer between Mefjord Brygge and Finnsnes
• On request it's also possible to book minibus transfer at the time and destination/origin of your choice

On our Winter Activity Packages we will plan to include following activities:

If guests stay extra night, or if another activities are not available, we will use following activity as replacement or as the 4th activity:

All activities are planned depending on season, weather forecast, availability and other factors - not all activities are available every time and in some case we may offer alternative activities, such as

  • Hiking trip (daytime)

Below is a sample hour by hour program that may be modified or reordered depending on current season, weather conditions and other factors.

Each group will receive their own their own tailor made program upon arrival.

DAY 1

16:00 afternoon cruise with Senja Direct bus from Tromsø to Mefjord Brygge on Senja island. Possible to hop on at 16:25 at Tromsø Boat Terminal

20.00 – 21.30 Arrival & check-in, dinner, meeting with the guides and information about the program

22.00 – .... Time to get to know the area or relax in your cabin. It is possible to book sauna or go for a short walk around the village to see some interesting spots (see our suggestions on a small location map). If the weather is very good today, we may swap tomorrow's evening activity with today's evening.

DAY 2

07.30 – 9.30 Breakfast

10.30 - 13.30 Arctic Boat Safari – exploring coastal nature to see wildlife and marine landscape by boat. The boat has comfortable seating area inside and for outside we will provide warm flotation suits (about 3 hours). Meeting by the Boat Pier

14.00 - 15.00 Lunch

15.00 - 19.00 Free time / possible to rent snow shoes or cross country skis for a small trip on your own / relax in hot-tub & sauna / explore the village

19.00 - 20.00 Dinner

20.30 – 23.30 Video presentation about Northern Lights followed by Northern Lights Safari - driving to Senja’s most iconic locations and scenic viewpoints to see Arctic nature. Meeting at Reception and going together to Arctic Lights Observatory.

DAY 3

07.30 - 9.30 Breakfast

08.00 - 15.00 Optional activities: Husky Safari or other guided/self-guided activities, such as hiking, snowshoeing,  island sightseeing, extra boat trip etc. (on request by the reception/guide).

14.00 - 15.00 Lunch

15.00 - 19.00 Free time / possible to use snow shoes or skis on your own (extra fee) / relax in sauna (included) or hot-tub (extra fee)/ explore the village

19.00 - 20.00 Dinner

20.30 – 23.30 A guided night walk (or hike) with snow shoes in search of the Northern Lights. Our guides will surprise you by telling some old local stories, showing interesting places and introduce to traditions linked with north-Norwegian culture. Depending on other details, the tour can be changed to daytime. If case of no snow in early season, we would go for a hike instead Meeting at Arctic Lights Observatory.

DAY 4

07.30 - 8.00 Breakfast & Lunch to-go

8.00 - Departure to Tromsø with Senja Direct bus

12.00 - Arrival to Tromsø Boat Terminal (city center); final stop at Tromsø Airport at 12.25

You will be accommodated in nice and very comfortable apartments or hotel rooms by the sea. All units have private facilities.

We have a special algorithm for assigning the accommodation for our guests, with regard to their personal preferences and also prioritizing families and groups of friends for allocation in bigger apartments. Couples are more likely to stay in hotel room - if you have individual preference, just let us know. It's possible to upgrade default accommodation to a higher standard on request.

Traditional north Norwegian food will be served in our newly open maritime style restaurant. As part of 3 nights activity package, we will serve:

• 3 x Breakfast
• 2 x Lunch + 1 x Lunch to go (on the last day)
• 3 x Dinner (main course and dessert)

If your activity package is longer or shorter, then the amount of meals will be adjusted accordingly.

Please indicate in advance if you have special dietary requirements/allergies.

Due to the seasonal break, we don't offer Winter Activity Packages in Christmas/New Year's period. We resume normal operation in the first week of January. 

During your visit on Senja in winter time it is possible to see the following, if the weather and good nature permit:

• Amazing fjords
• White tailed sea-eagles
• Moose
• Reindeer
• Rabbits
• Humpback whales, killer whales and fin whales (seasonally)

Seasons around Senja and what to expect:

• Northern Lights season: September- March (with some limited hours also from late August till early April)
• Whale watching season: usually January - February, but the last couple of years we observed different patterns from previous years, with whales staying around Senja just briefly. Therefore we don't guarantee or offer any experiences based on assumption that guests will see whales. This may come as an unexpected surprise anytime though.
• Snow-shoeing season: January - April
• Arctic nature, wildlife and beautiful colors: all year
• Skiing season: February-April (cross country), February - May (ski touring)

All experiences are subject to specific weather conditions and seasonality that is just an estimate. Therefore we cannot guarantee any of these experiences.

Our Activity Package Guests are welcome use free of charge in the free time:

• Sauna (2h session during their stay)

We also provide extra products that can be used as paid add-on:

• Ski rental
• Snow shoes
• Jacuzzi
• Yoga classes
• and more - ask our guides or at the reception

The possibility to use all of those products/services is subject to availability and needs to be confirmed on spot with our guides.

• We will do our best to offer you most spectacular activities experience depending on natural and weather conditions, especially regarding current season and availability of certain experiences (such as whale watching, snow-shoeing, northern lights and so on), however none of these experiences is guaranteed because nature is unpredictable and in case of adverse weather we may not be able to do the activities as planned
• We reserve the right not to go out with the boat if weather conditions are too bad. This is for your safety! If conditions allow, we would replace the boat safari with a minibus safari focusing on viewpoint sightseeing, wildlife, local life and culture on Senja
• Whale watching is only possible seasonally - especially in January, but this is nature so nothing is for sure - stay in contact with us to get the latest updates
• While most people expect clear skies and calm sea as their dream scenario, it is not always the case. We are aware of that and even in case of weather being far from perfect, in many cases it is still possible to experience and feel amazing elements of nature. We will do that in a safe and comfortable way with our guests, trying to make most of the given conditions during your stay
• In an unlikely event that weather is too extreme to be outside then outdoor activities may be cancelled or rescheduled, on the grounds of force majeure to ensure the guests are safe
• We do not provide any refunds for changes or cancellations of planned activities that are the result of weather conditions

Arrival by express boat from Tromsø to Finnsnes

In a situation where it's not possible to arrive by Senja Bus (ie. in case of cancellations, etc.). There are alternative ways to arrive.

Depending on which is your arrival day, we would arrange transfers based on following schedule. If you need a different pickup time/location, please communicate it to use in advance to be sure we have availability.

Arrival days: Monday to Friday (via FINNSNES)
Take an express boat number #2 from Tromsø at 16:15 going towards Finnsnes. You will be picked up in Finnsnes at 17:35.

Arrival day: Saturday (via FINNSNES)
Take an express boat number #2 from Tromsø at 15:00 going towards Finnsnes. You will be picked up in Finnsnes at 16:20.

Arrival day: Sunday (via FINNSNES)
Take an express boat number #2 from Tromsø at 15:45 going towards Finnsnes. You will be picked up in Finnsnes at 17:05.

Departure days: All days of the week
You will return with Hurtigruten/Havila ferry from Finnsnes at 11:30 and arrive to Tromsø at 14:15.
In case there are no Hurtigruten/Havila available, we would use one of the morning Express boats on the way back.

If you need to take a different arrival or departure schedule we can also make an arrangement for that on request - surcharges may apply.
