Arctic Boat Safari
Deluxe boat trip to see coastal nature and fjords
Arctic Boat Safari
Description
One of best ways to experience unique landscape of Senja is to join Arctic Boat Safari.
It is a boat trip with our Deluxe Sargo 36 feet Big Boat with heating, comfortable sitting area inside and possibility to walk around the deck for greater views.
Arctic Boat Safari is focusing on spotting sea-eagles, marine wildlife and beautiful nature. During the tour we will visit some of the beautiful coastal destinations, admire remoteness and wilerness of Arctic nature and if the time permits, we will also sneak to take a look at local fishermen's daily lifes.
Our guides will make sure this is an interesting experience that may or may not include spotting any of the wildlife species, notably sea-eagles, seals, humpback whales or killer whales*.
* please keep in mind that whale sightings are very seasonal and not regular, therefore we do not guarantee that whales will be possible to spot on any of our tours

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are recent statistics regarding whale watching:
- Winter 2015/2016: We had almost daily whale sightings from early January till first week of March
- Winter 2016/2017: We had almost daily whale sightings from early January till mid-February
- Winter 2017/2018: During the New Year's period we had some good days with humpback & killer whales, but around middle of January the whales disappeared and we could see them again from mid-February till early April on an irregular basis (approximately 25% of expeditions)
- Winter 2018/2019: There were few weeks when our fishing tourists reported seeing whales in the period of late March till mid-April
We are keeping our fingers crossed: the possibility to see whales is subject to change anytime.
One of suspected reasons for whales skipping Senja and Tromsø is that they stayed a bit longer in the north-east of our region in the early part of season (Nov & Dec 2017) and coming to waters around Senja just briefly afterwards.
Due to these patterns in whales' behavior we would like to inform all our guests that spotting these beautiful animals is not (and has never been) guaranteed - we hope for more sightings in future and reversed pattern, which is also very likely but unpredictable 🙂
This is nature and probably one of the best parts of it is experiencing its own ways it follows and make most of it!
Sure, most of the activities are suitable for kids of 4 years or older.
We are a boutique and exclusive destination, far from crowds of tourists, therefore our goal is to provide high quality services to smaller amount of guests.
While our boat has a capacity of 12, yet still most of the activities will be for groups smaller than 8 persons.
In case we have more guests at that time, we would arrange activities in smaller groups to offer best experience possible
Most of the time it is good to have extra clothing in case the weather changes, otherwise we recommend two or three base layers (depending on the season and current weather) as well as overall rainproof jacket.
We provide special clothing for boat activities, otherwise just be dressed up like you would normally dress when going outside on your own.
We have an onsite activity shop that sells all the essential outdoor equipment and more, such as:
- hats
- gloves
- headlamps
- foot/toe warmers
- souvenirs
- fishing gear
- ....and more
