Cross Country Skiing
In winter, you can enjoy excellent classic cross-country ski tracks right behind the village of Mefjordvær.
Starting point: Our equipment rental base, beside Arctic Lights Observatory.
Duration of the trip: around 6km
Difficulty:
Medium if you follow the GPS track below
Easier if you do do the track the opposite way
Season: Typically the snow conditions are very good from early January till mid-April

Use the bird’s-eye view map as a guide
The trails are well marked - you will easily find the way just following the trail, but just in case here's reference map. Yellow sections are quite easy, a red one is a bit more difficult (due to a few uphill/downhill parts and narrow turns). As a reference point you can also see the cabin (pictured below the map). The trail is slightly easier if you do it clockwise.
When you see this Cabin, you have two options. Continue the easy loop on the left, continue towars slightly more difficult to the right.
